Menopause is confirmed after 12 months without a period. Afterwards, bone loss speeds up, cholesterol tends to rise, and urinary and pelvic problems become more common. The package gives a woman past menopause a first look at some of these areas.

It suits a woman who wants a general review, or whose doctor has asked for a pelvic scan with a basic set of blood and urine tests. Think of it as a starting point for a conversation with your doctor, not a full medical assessment.

Each test covers a different area of health after menopause.

• Pelvic ultrasound with TVS: a transvaginal scan (TVS) uses a slim probe placed gently in the vagina for a close view of the uterus, its lining and the ovaries. After menopause both organs shrink. The radiologist checks the thickness of the womb lining, the womb muscle for lumps, the ovaries for cysts, and any fluid.
• Calcium and vitamin D3: calcium is the main mineral in bone, and vitamin D helps the gut absorb it. Low vitamin D can weaken bones. These tests show whether the supply is adequate. They do not measure how strong your bones are.
• Random blood sugar and HbA1c: random means any time of day. The second test reflects your average over the last two to three months. Together they screen for diabetes and raised sugar.
• Lipid profile: reports your cholesterol and triglycerides. The risk of heart disease rises after menopause, so these numbers matter more.
• CBC: counts red cells, white cells and platelets, and shows anaemia or signs of infection.
• Serum uric acid: a waste product of the body. A high level can cause gout, a painful joint condition, and can contribute to kidney stones.
• Serum bilirubin: a pigment cleared by the liver. This is one liver marker, not a full liver panel.
• Urine routine and microscopy: looks for infection, blood, protein and sugar. Urinary infections become more frequent after menopause.
