Our imaging services

Which imaging test do you need?

Your doctor chooses the test by the question they are trying to answer, not by the body part alone. The list below matches the common questions to the test.

  • To look at organs, fluid or a pregnancy: an ultrasound. It uses sound waves and no radiation.
  • To check blood flow in an artery or vein: Colour Doppler, which adds flow to a standard scan.
  • To look at bones, the chest or a joint injury: a digital X-ray.
  • To check how the heart pumps and its valves: a 2D Echo.
  • To record heart rhythm and electrical activity: an ECG, which takes a few minutes.

Preparing for your visit

Preparation depends on the test, and getting it wrong is a common reason for a scan to be repeated. An abdominal ultrasound needs an empty stomach. A pelvic scan needs a full bladder. An ECG, an X-ray and a thyroid or joint scan need nothing special.

When you book, tell us what your doctor wrote on the prescription. We will confirm the test, how long to fast or whether to drink water, and a time that suits you. If you are pregnant, or think you might be, say so before any X-ray.

MRI and CT scans

We do not have an MRI or CT scanner at our centre. If your doctor has advised one, we would rather tell you now than have you travel for nothing. Ask your doctor where to get it done. If you would like us to look at the images afterwards, bring them with the report.

How a visit works

  1. 1

    Send your prescription

Message us on WhatsApp or call the centre. We confirm which test it means and exactly how to prepare.

  2. 2

    Choose a time

We find a slot that works with your fasting or bladder preparation. Centre hours are Monday to Saturday 9 AM to 8 PM and Sunday 10 AM to 2 PM.

  3. 3

    Your test

The team explains what will happen, then carries out the scan, X-ray, Echo or ECG.

  4. 4

    Your report

The team tells you when and how you will receive the report. Take it to the doctor who referred you.

Preparation and aftercare

Before your visit

  • Abdominal ultrasound: fast for about six hours. Small sips of water are usually fine. A whole abdomen scan also needs a full bladder, and the team will explain how to manage both.
  • Pelvic ultrasound: drink water about an hour before and hold your urine. A transvaginal scan is the exception, so ask which one you are having.
  • X-ray, ECG, Echo, thyroid and joint scans: no special preparation. Eat and drink normally.
  • Do not stop prescribed medicines unless your doctor tells you to.

Please bring

  • Your doctor's prescription or referral
  • Earlier scans, X-rays and lab reports for comparison

Diagnostic Imaging: common questions

Which imaging tests do you offer?

We offer ultrasound (abdomen, pelvis, pregnancy, thyroid, joints and soft tissues), Colour Doppler, digital X-ray, 2D Echo and ECG. Breast imaging such as 3D mammography is part of our advanced breast care service.

Do you do MRI or CT scans?

No. We do not have an MRI or CT scanner. Ask your referring doctor where to have one done.

Do I need an appointment?

Booking helps make sure the right scan is available when you arrive and that you know the right preparation. Message us on WhatsApp or call the centre.

What should I bring?

Bring the doctor's prescription and any earlier scans or reports. Comparing with old images helps the radiologist see what has changed.

Can I book a scan without a doctor's prescription?

Many scans are done on a doctor's advice, and the prescription tells us which scan and which body part. If you do not have one, message us and the team will say what is possible before you travel.
